At the Agricultural Conference today the committee appointed yesterday to deal with the question ot fires recommended that Government should be requested to bring m a Bill to prevent tho careless use Ot fire in rural districts. Mr Kirk, Government Biologist, gave a technical talk on disease in turnips, cabbages, and potatoes, with progress reports on experiments that are being conducted throughout the colony. It was decided to ask Government to initiate a system of co-operative experiments in agriculture on similar lines to those carried out by Canadian and experimental unions, and in order to secure tho proper carrying out of such expox'imonts Government he asked to have a certain number of cadets in connection with every experimental farm under Government control.
