THE SCOTTISH CHURCHES.

Press Association. —Copyright,

London, July 30. The Elgin Commission, appointed to enquire into the Scottish Churches’ dispute, estimated the United Free Church funds at £1,354,720, and allotted £310,000 to the Wee Frees, besides what was awarded before.

It is estimated that the United Frees have lost altogether half a million.

The opinion is expressed in Scotland that the Commissioners were lavishly generous to the Wee Frees.
