Henry Ward Beecher is recalled by the death of Mr Theodore Tilton, an American journalist, who died in Paris on May 25th, after a brief illness, at the ago of seventy-one. Mr Tilton, who left America some years ago, and was associated with Mr Beecher in his journalistic capacity, brought charges against him with regard to Mrs Tilton. Tins lady was a Miss Elizabeth Richards, of Brooklyn, and a member of the Plymouth Church, Brooklyn, of whicn Mr Beecher was the pastor. The accusations were made before the governing board of the church, who appointed a committee to inquire into them.
