FEUDING A. AND P. ASSOCIATION.

Ajinooting of the general committee was held last uight. It was decided to pay £2 2s towards cost of conference of A. aud P. Associations. . A letter circular was received from the hardware trade and ammunition dealers, Auckland, containing a protest against the increase of 35 per cent duty on cartridges aud cartridge cases, making it now GO to 80 per cent, aud' the increase of 20 per cent on bill books and slashers. The meeting endorsed the protest, and decided to bring the matter under the notice of the member for the district. It was decided to hold future meetings of the committee ou Saturday afternoons at half-past 2 o’clock. An estimate of receipts aud expenditure for the year 1908 was read, the total being £1251, and the amount proposed to bo given in prizes was £GOO. The Chairman said about £7OO had been expended last year, but lie thought it was advisable to cut down the expenditure. The Horse Committee had met and reduced the prizes in this class by £35, and the other committees could make similar reductions. It was decided to allot £OOO for prize money. A committee was appointed to purge the membership roll aud report at next meeting. Air J. Peters aud Messrs Alusgrovo aud Thompson were elected members. Air Alex. Lnxmoro resigned through leaving the district. It was announced that Messrs Barraud aud Abraham would donate £5 os, AI D. P. Barrett £5 os, W. Gibson“£3 3s, and Messrs Campion and Waugh, J. AlcLeod, aud AI. Green £.l Is each, Alcssrs A. H. Atkinson and Co. £lO 10s, Air John Oobbe £lO 10s, MrgW. E. Baker £4 4s, and Air P. Thompson a Babcock tester valued at £2 2s to prize for best dairy c vw. A vote of thanks was passed to the donors.

It was decided to add the following to the rules:—That iu the eveut of there being ouly one exhibitor iu any particular class hut half tho prize mouey he awarded. It was resolved to thank Messrs Tanner aud Laird for acting as judges free of cost.
