The Stock Market.
The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, Ltd., report as followsOn Thursday at Palmerston a very small entry of cattle came forward and one pen of sheep. Bidding at auction was very dull. Most lines were passed in, but we were successful in clearing the yarding by the end of the day. Quotations: Yearling heifers 15s, store cows 37s 6d, fat cows £3 10s to £4, springing heifers £3 13s 6d, cows in calf £3 10s, fat ewes 21s. At Rangiwahia on Tuesday the yards wore well filled witli sheep, but few cattle came forward ; sheep met witli a dragging sale, lambs being the only description of sheep which sold. Quotations: Cull ewes in lamb ss, 8s 3d, 9s; wether lambs 13s, ewe lambs 13s, mixed lambs 10s 9d, 4 and 6-tooth wethers 17s 6d, 2-tooth wethers 15s, f.f.m. owes 19s. At Peildiug on Friday we had a good entry of lambs, which met with a keen demand and wo effected a good clearance ; the enquiry for breeding owes was also active. Quotations: Lambs mixed Lis Id, 14s, 14s 6d, 16s; springing cows £3 10s, £4 10s; fat , cows £3 15s, £3 19s Gd; store cows £l, £1 10s. 1
