SANDON FOOTBALL MATCH.
Slß,—Numerov ■ ■■■'louts liayo appeared in the ' i Herald in connection with Saudou v. Albion match, pl. ; . • •: Saudou last Saturday, and it v, .. bo unfair to Sandon to allow such absolute untruths to ' pass uucontradicted. I was a spectator of the above match from start to finish, and it was obvious from the commencement of the game that the Albions were looking for something more than football, and yet Sandon gets all the blame for roughness. As regards the rioting which took place in the Sandou-Bulls road on tire evening of the day of the match, the Herald asserts that free fights took place on licensed premises. If that was so, the pugilists must have boon Foxtou men, for I am prepared to swear on oath that no Sandon man caused any disturbance on any licensed pro -: mises in Saudou on that evening. Some excited town folk did have a rather “handy argument”, but that was on a public thoroughfare.—l am, etc.
