AUCKLAND TRAM DISPUTE.

Per Press Association. Auckland, July 11

The resolution with regard to the overcrowding of trams was put into force by most of the employees today, and several instances occurred in which- the employees, when the people had got on in excess of tho ordinary number, stopped tho cars and refused to go until some of the passengers got off. The matter reached an acute stage to-night, when apparently only tho usual number of the last cars was put on. These in tho past have always been overcrowded, but tonight the majority of the conductors enforced tho resolution which was passed at the meeting on Tuesday, and the cars* passed by the various stopping places without picking up farthorjjpassengers,- leaving bunches of from 8 to 15 behind in many places, and those, together with a large number of others, had to walk homo, many having to go considerable distances, some to Ouolmuga (seven miles distant). Among those not picked up were a largo number of ladies in opera cloaks.
