COUNTIES CONFERENCE.

Press Association. Wellington, July 11. Among the rosolutior.s passed at the Counties Conference are the following : fhat Government he requested to individualise the ownership of all native lands, and to make them rateable to the same extent, as other lands within the counties ; that Crown and native lands be subject to the same regulations under the Noxious Weeds, Act as private lands o i lands belonging to local bodies j that Government will enact provisions general to the colony for the regulation and control of motor cars ; that Government he urged to have waste Crown lands in the North thrown open for settlement as soon as possible ; that an amendment he effected in the Local Bodies Loans Act, 1901, so os to, enable lecal bodies to borrow from Government on the security of a special rate levied wholly on native lands when, say, half of such lands are occupied by Europeans under registered lease. July 13. At the Comities Conference to-day officers were elected as follows: President, A. E. Jnll, Waipawa; Vice-Presidents, 0. J. Harper, Ashburton; J. G. Wilson, Bulls; P. W. Lang, Tuhikaramea; W. Most of tho morning was spent on tho Model Bye-laws Bill, no material alteration being made.
