A flood this year made a trench in the face of the work, and several of the stone crates were undermined and collapsed, and some others slipped a few feet. , These were replaced, and the money all expended. There yet remains the fencing and the willow planting to do, and a further grant has been applied for, as the Riding is not prepared to find money out of rates for the protection of private land* A sum of money ’ should always be at hand so that, repairs may be made immediately any damage takes place, otherwise the damage is a continually increasing one, and the whole work is soon threatened. TIME IS THE TEST. THE TESTIMONY OP N.Z. PEOPLE STANDS THE TEST. The teat of time is what tells the tale. “Anew broom sweeps clean,” but will it wear well, is what interests most. The public soon find out when misrepresentations are made, and merit alone will stand the test of time. Marion people appreciate merit, ana not many months ago local people publicly endorsed Doan’s Baokbaohe Kidney Pills; they do so still. Would a woman make the statement whiob follows unless convinced that the article was just as represented 7 A oure that lasts is the kind that every sufferer from kidney ills is lookinc for. Mrs Crutobley, Liverpool-street, Wanganui, late of Marton, says“ Over two years ego I obtained a supply 0 f Doan’s Backache Kidney Pills and used them for kidney pains, which had hitherto resisted all treatment. Pains in the su>all of me back used to trouble me a good deal, but I am pleased to say that Doan's Backache Kidney Pills cured me, and I have been free of them ever since.; I might also meaj tion that they did my husband as much good for the same trouble as they did me. I obtained them at Bemington’s pharmacy.” Beware of imitation. Remember it was Doan’s Backache Kidney' 1 Pills which cored Mrs Orutohley, and if you suffer with the backache and kidney trouble you want the same remedy. ~ Doan’s Backache Kidney Pills are sold by all chemists and storekeepers at 3b per box (six boxes I6s 6d) or will be posted on receipt of price by Foster-Olelland Co , 76 Pitt Street, Sydney.
