Press Association,

Weeing ton, July 9. The Premier has received the following cahlergam from the President of the Board of Trade, Mr Lloyd George:—“Your suggestions as to commercial agents in the colonies approved by Government and the Imperial Parliament, and are now being carried out. ”1 Speaking to a Post reporter, the Premier said this is a gratifying result of a suggestion made by him at the Conference, and he was certain it would prove of great usefulness to all British countries where those commercial representatives are appointed. It would have a very desirable advantage from the point of view of the trade of the colony, that it would bring ns into dircet communication with the Board of Trade, and in that respect from time to time, information regarding the condition of trade in any part of the world which the English Board of Trade obtained would be -obtainable through these commercial agents; also most reliable data concerning the possibilities of trade extension in new parts. Coming from an absolutely independent and reliable source, itjwoukl give every section o our trades an equal opportunity of obtaining information which at times could only he got at very great cost, and it distinctly showed that the British Government and the President of the Board of Trade wore anxious to assist in the improvement and development of trade within the Empire.
