Pposs Association —Copyright Rome. July 5, Italians enthusiastically celebrated tho centenary of Garibaldi’s birth. King Emanuel granted an amnesty to numbers of political offenders. There was a large pilgrimage to Garibaldi’s tomb at Caprora. The Papal Court is observing ten days’ spiritual retreat. London, July 5. A number of veteran Garibaldeans held ,a demonstration in front of Stafford House, The guards outside St. James’ Palace saluted the procession. The Duke of Sutherland, Earl Crewe, and Mr Herbert Gladstone made speeches extolling the Liberator.
