RIVER POLLUTION.
Per Press Association. Dunedin, July 2. Bruco County Council to-day decided to give notice to the owners of Bruce woollen mills to abate the pollution ej the Tokomairiro river hy thv ’discharge of factory drainage. Fifteen landowpef§ complained that owing to tfio inky black* ness of the water t could not be used for watering stock. A councillor stated that the drainage also killed fish in the river.
