To Encircle the Earth

Speaking at the Canadian dinner in the Hotel Cecil Sir Wilfred Laurier warmly advocated an “All Red’’ line of steamers encircling the earth as a truly Imperial scheme. He declared that Canada, New Zealand aud Australia are ready to support it if the British people and- Parliament are willing to accept the heavy responsibility. They keep a line of steamers between Liverpool and New 7 York, and surely what the United Kingdom had done for the foreigner it might ho willing to do for people living under the British flag. The Times expresses a hope that the British will bo ready to help that aud many other wants to hind the nation together.
