Press Association. Dunedin, July 3. An eldprly man named David Martin died this morning under chloroform while being, operated on in a private hospital, An inquest will be held to-morrow. Wanganui, July 8. An elderly snau, named John Blair, aged 69 years, met his death this morning under peculiar circumstances. He was standing on a chair pruning fruit trees when the chair gave way and he fell on the knife, severing tho jugular vein and he died in a few minutes.
