ALLEGED ATTEMPTED MURDER.

Press Association. Whangauei, July 2. Mervyu Karl Bradshaw was charged at the Court this morning with the attempted murder of Allen Edward Bisset at Opuawhanga yesterday, aud was remanded for eight days, as Bissett is in a critical condition. Accused, who is single, and 8 years of ago, is a nephew of Bisset, and worked at the latter’s flaxmill. If is alleged that he attacked Bisset with a sheath knife aud drove it to the hilt in his left side, and inflicted other serious wounds in his back and arms. James Aldred, who rushed to the rescue, was also attacked, but wrested the knife from accused. There is very faint hope of Bisset’s recovery.
