Stock Report.
The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency 00., Ltd., report as follows ;—At Palmerston on Thursday we had a moderate yarding of cattle, hut only two pens of sheep came forward. Buyers were present for the cattle and a good sale resulted, only one pen being turned out unsold. We quote : —Sheep ; Sound mouth wees in lamb 14a 9d, cull ewes in lamb 10s 6d. Cattle : Weauers 15s, 2 year heifers £3, 3 year steers (poor) £3 12s 6d to £3 4s, 2)4 year steers in low condition £3 3s,'store cows 30s to 475, fat cows £3 15s to £4 13s, fat and forward heifers £3 10s.
Grain Report.
Messrs Kaye and Carter, Christchurch, report as follows: Wheat i Milling Tuscan 4s 4d to 4s od. Pearl 4s 6:1 to 4s 7d, milling Hunter’s 4s 4d to 4s sd, fowl wheat 4s 2d to 4.s 3d; f.o.h. Lyttelton, sacks extra. The milling wheat market is quiet, and holders are firm ; fowl wheat is still very scarce. Oats: A Gartou 3s 3d to 3s 3d, B Gartond 3s to 3s 2d, Sparrowbills 3s to 3s 3d, Danish 3s to 3s Id, Duns 2s 2d to 3s 4d 1 f.o.h. Lyttelton, sacks included. Market advancing ; local demand absorbing all available supplies, Potatoes 1 Table sorts £4 to £4 10s, in bettor demand; seed lots,£4 5s to £5, f.0.b., sacks included. There is a good demand for all seed lines.
