In the House of Commons Mr Haldane’s Army Bill providing for “a territorial force was read a third time by 886 to 63, the minority consisting chiefly of the Labour and Irish parties. [The territorial army will provide the second line of defence and will consist of the volunteers, yeomanry, and a portion of the militia combined into one great uniform force organised by county associations. All members will have to attend training camp annually and if war is declared will undergo six mouths strict training.]
