■ Per Press Association. Nelson, Juno 17. Further particulars concerning the fire 6’n the oil tench and the drowning p£ three Maoris show that the fire was caused through d lantern being dropped. Eeue Tewhetu pluckily endeavoured to extinguish the fiames with nis coat and Mohave fell overboard while hastening to assist, and some of the others jumped overboard. Aperaliama Tewhetu was drowned while trying to save his wife tod their little son. Mohi was also drowned, as well as Mrs Eenata, an elderly woman. There were eleven persons in the launch and eight were ectved.
