i Stock Market. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, Ltd., reports as follows :—At Palniorstou 1 .North on Thursday we had a small yarding of sheep and cattle. There ■was a good demand for store cows and good quality young steers. The few pens of sheep offered were sold at satisfactory prices. Quotations : Store cows 8;!s to 85s, forward cows £2 2s 6d to £2 18s, fat cows £8 5a to £3 19s, cow and oalf £3 18s 6d, heifor in calf £3 4s 6d, 20-month steers £2 • 14s to £2 10a, 2% -year steers £4.. Sheep: Lambs 10s Bd, store ewes 113 6d, forward ewes 18s -Id. At Apiti on Tuesday both sheep and cattle pens were well filled. A fair demand for sheep existed, the result being a satisfactory olearance. Young cattle sold well, but dairy cows were difficult to quit. Sheep: 2-tooth ewes in lamb 16s 7d, 4-tooth to f.m. ewes in lamb 22s C d, 4-year Romney Lincoln ewes 18s, 2 and 4-tooth ewes in lamb 163 Bd, cull ewes in lamb 7s, oull lamb 3 6s, 63 7d, mixed lambs 10s 3d, ewe lambs 14s 6d, wether lambs 13s Bd, 2. tooth wethers 16a 9d. At Feilding on Friday there, was a fair yarding of both'sheep and cattle. Buyers were present and although the sale dragged at times a good clearance was made under the hammer and we sold everything with the exception of one pen. There wa3 a good enquiry for forward cows and young steers. Sheep: 2-tooth wethers 10s lid, small wether3 14s 9d, store ewes 8s 9d, forward ewes lis to 13s, kmnbs lis Id, aged breeding ewes 18a 6d to 14s 6d. Cattle: steers £3 15s, 20-months steers £3 14s, fat heifers £4 Bs, store cows 34a to £2, forward heifers £2 16s, springing heifers £5 10s. Clearing Sale. There was a very large attendance at the clearing sale of live and dead sfcook conducted by the New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd., on behalf of Mr Charles Hopping at Taikorea on Wednesday. j Bidding was brisk tlu-oughout, and a very good sale resulted, the dairy cows and implements selling particularly well. The imported Holstoin cow realised £3l, and the two imported Holstein bulls made £4O each. The draught stallion "Dollar Jack" brought J£7o, and other horses sold very well. The highest price paid for dairy cows was £ls. Their catalogue contained 12 bales and 35 bag lots of wool, 1100 skins, 800 hides, 80 calf skins, 3 casks and 37 tins of tallow, also the usual quantities of horsehair, bones tails, etc. Buyers wero -in strong force and competition was particularly keen for wool and skins.
