OPERA HOUSE-TO-NIGHT

Return of a Popular Organisation. The Midnight Wedding. Many companies have from time to time visited New Zealand, but it is safe to say none have achieved such widespread popularity as Messrs Meynell and Gunn’s famous “Fatal Wedding” Company. Its previous tour about June of last year was oue long series of memorable triumphs, which have boon repeated tliroughout the length and breadth of Australia. The return tour of this splendid organisation, inaugurated iu Invercargill on March 20th last, with a new play and a specially augmented company, has proved, if possible, more successful. Thus far, Invercargill, Dunedin, Timaru, Christchurch, Auckland, Gisborne, and most of the northern and southern towns have been visited and records have been broken all along the lino. With such a popular star as Harcourfc Beatty m the load, supplemented by a company of sucli all-round competence and versatility as Messrs Mcjuoll and Gunn’s “Fatal Wedding” Company which includes Messrs James Liudsay, Conway Wingfield, Herbert Leigh, 0. R. Stanford, Tom Cauuam, Rutland Brokitt, Theo. Staco, Misses May Cougdou, Dina Cooper, ■ Amy Singleton, Wiunifred Gunn,, etc.", nothing hut success could he achieved, with a far less meritorious play than 1 ‘ The Midnight Wedding, ’ ’ the now attraction of the company’s tour, which is now winning the plaudits of not only the theatregoers of this colony and Australia, but throughout Loudon and the provinces. ' The Company appear this evening at the- Opera House for one night only. In addition to this production the famous children’s scene from “The Fatal Wedding” will be staged at the conclusion of tho performance by special request.
