MARTON SCHOOL COMMITTEE.
A meeting of Martou Technical School Committee was held last evening. Present. —Mr J. J. McDonald, chair; Rev. D. Gordon, Dr. gfcerinan, Messrs Newman, Purnell, 6, M. Davenport, Morgan, Dolby, Moßsmau, Way, Wilkes, Little, Richardson, Leave of absence was |fanted to Mr R. K. Simpson. Resolved : To apply to the Board for a ventilator in the roof of the new loom now being built; that the local director issue a circular to farmers in the district explanatory of the wrarseof intruction in agricultural classes shortly to bo begun; that the first room available be temporarily (inushed as an ordinary class room, and a gravelled approach made. The Director reported that, new classes had been opened for telegraphy and singing. The total number of individual pupils attending the school was 90. The classes were all paying their way. Subsequently the School Committee mot and dealt with routine r tiers. Tire attendance last month primary school was 84 per cent and in tire , secondary school 78 per cent. The low attendance was due to the existence of infections diseases.
