Woo!, Hide, and TaMow Saie. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, Wellington, report as follows ; < , At to-day’s (June 7th) sale wo ofi'erea a representative catalogue of wool, skins, hides, and a small lot of tallow. There was a good attendance of buyers, and we are pleased to report a slight improvement in prices. We quote: Wool—Rough crossbred, 7id to 7fd; cr&tohiugs, clean, Old to 7;}d; crutohings, seedy, 4Jd to 6d. Sheepskins—Crossbred pelts, GJd to 7Jd; inferior aid broken pelts, 2£d to BJkl ; half to three quarter woolled crossbred, BJd to BJd ; lambskins, BJd to Del ; green skins, 4s to 6s lOd each; green lambskins, 3s to 4s 9d each. Hides—Ox, medium, to s|d ; cow, 6Jd to sjfd ; damaged, 3d to 4|d; calfskins, sound, 31d to 7fid; calfskins, damaged, 2d to 5Jd; hull hides, 43d. Tallow—ln good demand at late rates. Stock Report. Messrs Gorton and Son report:— At Foildiug on Friday we had a good yarding of both sheep and cattle. Forward wethers and good breeding ewes sold well, but competition for other sorts is not keen. We quote : —Sheep ; 2-tooth ewes in lamb 30s, mixed ages ewes in lamb 14s 3d to J.os, one pen 18s, fat and forward wethers, real good lino 19s 4d, forward ewes 17s lOd, fat ewes and wethers 10s Cd, store ewes 10s 9d, wether lambs 13s Cd, mixed lambs small 10s 3d to 10s 9d, culls 7s 3(1. Cattle : 13-months heifers 28s 6cl, fat heifers £3 to £3 15s, fat cows £4 10s, store cows 26s to £3, springing heifers £3 to £3 10s, springing cows £3. Mr Kobsrsteiu’s sale on Saturday was well attended by buyers both local and from a distance and a first class sale resulted. The cows were a grand line and realised from £3 15s to £ll Ss, with an average of £6 5s 4d over the herd of 55. We quote: Ewe lambs 14s 9d, sows in pig £1 7s Gd to £4 10s, porkers 15s to 16s, slips 6s, weauors 4s 9d to 7s, p.b. weauors 10s to 255, unbroken 3-ycar gelding £3O, crippled 2-year draught £6 10s. boy’s pony £6, spring heifers £4, bulls 5s to £2 12s 6d, poultry and sundries at full rates.
