EMPLOYERS AND CONCILIATION

Mastorton employers are sighing a petition to Parliament to repeal the Industrial Conciliation and Arbitration Act or to so amend it that in the country districts it shall bo made permissive and that the enforcement or repeal of its provisions shall be dependent on the ?ote of the tradosmon and workers concerned. The petitioners contend that labour union agents from the cities continually stir up strife in the country districtSj making demands on country industries which, if acceded to, •would ruin them.
