MANAWATU SHOW.
Pro:s Association. PiLMEnSTON N., June 8. Entries for the Manawatu A. and P. Association's National Dairy Winter Show are now closed, and are extremely satisfactory and re presentative of Tarauaki, Hawke' Bay, Wairarapa, Horowhenua, and Manawatu. The fruit .and Horti* cultural divisions havo drawn 337/ while the schools' garden competi- 1 tion will bo prominent. Seven schools will occupy lfiOft. frontage, with a display of collections and individual classes. Fat sheep and pigshavo 108 entries. Competitions in milk testing number 17, mostly pupils in classes instituted by Wanganui Education Board. Hunter' and pony competitions for the second day have drawn 27 entries.For the champion utility poultry breed show, restricted to seven 1 breeds, there are 300 entries representative of districts from Auckland to Marlborough and Nelson. Tho total entries in dairy produco classes are 172. A featuro of the machinery division is the groat increase in exhibits of moving dairy machines, including milking plants. The extent of this division is shown by the fact tliat there are 35 different merchants' stands, occupying a total frontage of 1000 feet. Tho show opens on the 18th instant, also the conference of tho National Dairy Association and New Zealand Factory Butter and Checsemakors' Association. The Agricultural Department is making a special display, occupying some 600 square feet in one of the halls.
