Reassuring Investors. Press Association.—Copyright. London, June 7. A number of financiers interested in Victoria gave a luncheon to Mr Bent. Mr Faithful Begg, presiding, objected to the tono adopted by Mr W. M. Hughes, member of the Federal House, in Ms recent speeches, which ho said were calculated only to produce a feeling of unrest. Mr Bent assured the gathering that it was perfectly safe to invest mouoy in Victoria. Most of the labour leaders, he said, had substantial vested intersts in tho State, and he was willing to pledge himself that future legislation would in no way intorfere with legitimate investment, and that Victoria would faithfully observe her obligations.
