VOLUNTEERING.

The enthusiasts in shooting from the various volunteer corps found their way to AVanganui on Saturday afternoon to take part in the annual competition for the Battalion Shield. After an enjoyable time and some real good shooting, the Manchester Rifles, Peilding, carried off the much treasured trophy in triumph. Palmerston and Feilding teams returned home last evening.
