ALLEGED ABDUCTION.

Per Press Association. Auckland, May 30. The case against Arthur James Harris, charged with criminally assaulting and abducting a girl under 16, was continued at the criminal sittings of the Supreme Court to-day before Justice Denniston, After a retirement of three hours the jury returned a verdict of guilty on two counts of criminal assault, but not of abduction. They found that prisoner in the two cases did not have reasonable causa to believe that the girl was 16 years of age, but thai he did not induce her to remain with him.The jury also found that the girl had written the letters produced in Court, including one which was alleged by the girl to be a forgery. His Honor deferred passing sentence until to-day.
