John Thomas Bonoetf, aged 55, pleading guilty to a charge of false pretences, was sentenced to three years’ imprisonment, Sand was declared a habitual criminal—-the prisoner’s record commencing with a conviction for larceny in 18(56, and included 18 convictions, involving 24 years’ imprisonment. Henry Peacock was to-day committed for trial ou two charges of having in his possession one mould intended to make a resemblance of both sides of a half sovereign, aud another of both sides of a half crown.

Mr McCarthy, S.M., has delivered Ids reserved judgment iu tho case of Margaret MoAuliffo, charged with sly grog-selling at tho Shamrock Hotel. The defendant had been previously convicted for keeping liquor for sale iu the no-liceuso area. The Magistrate found the charge substantiated and sentenced the accused to throe mouths’ imprisonment. Three sailors of the barquoutiue Titauia, and one of the steamer luverau, were each sentenced to one mouth’s hard labour for refusing duty. Alexander Bagley, chemist, was fined one shilliug without costs for soiling a liniment containing poison without entering the ingredients, composition, aud name of the purchaser iu the register. At the Supreme Court to-day Oscar Robert Blair pleaded guilty to three charges of forgery and was sentenced to six months’ hard labour ou each charge, the sentences concurrent. In divorce an order was made for restitution of conjugal rights inf Richards v. Richards.
