In connection with the sixteenth anniversary of the foundation of the Hamburg-American steamship line, the German newspapers emphasize that the Company has far surpassed in extent the operations, number, tonnage and ships of all its British rivals, and claim that their ships are now trading in waters which, until recently were British preserves, notably Australian and Indian waters.
