Canterbury is quoted at 4d, North Island 3%d. The lamb mrakot is firm.' There has boon no change in prices. The beef market is firm owing to the reduced supplies. Hindquarters arc quoted at 3%d, forequarters at 3Wd.: -.v , „ , 'The butter market is dull, only fine ?.quality in demand. _ Choicest Now" Zealand 995, Danish 10os, Siberian 90s. ... The cheese market is steady, with no change in price. The hemp market is quiet, with small business doing. Reports from Manila indicate there is a disposition to sell distant delivery hemp, and some holders of hemp are forcing sales Good fair grade on spot is in ; small simply and quoted at £34, fan grade on spot £39 10s ; fair grade, May to July shipments, _ £2J; fan current Manila on spot f >3(5 10s. There is no alteration in the cocksfoot seed market.
Stock Report. Messrs Dalgoty and Co., Ltd.,.report as follows; At our I<eliding sale on Friday there was a small yarding of sheep and all sold at satisfactory prices as holow : S.m. owes in lamb 14s Cd, lambs mixed sexes 13s Id, empty ewes 9s Gd; an account J. W. Brady, Esq., Bunnythorpo, Lincoln ewes 2gns to 3%gns. Feiiding Produce Market. Messrs A. H. Atkinson and Co. , report—Owing to the heavy rain which fell early on Friday morning the usual number of pigs did not come forward. Prices were quite up to last week. A large entry of fowls came to hand. Prices were easier, as the supply exceeded the demand. Produce camo to hand in largo quantities and sold well. Quotations —Horses, . aged harness horses £1 16s Cd to ££7 2s Gd. Pigs—woaners 7s Gd, slips 8s to 8s Gd, stores 14s Gd, porkers 235, empty sow 335. Poultry—Cockerels Is to 2s Gd, ha as 9d to Is 7d, ducks 2s sd, purebred Wyandotte lions 4s; all at each. Produce—Potatoes 7s to 9s _9d per sack, prime onions Id per Ih, inferior y,d per lb, marrows small 2s 3d to 3s 2d per sack, horse carrots 5s per sack, swedes 3s, pumpkins per Ih, barley 2s lOd per bushel. Factory bacon—Sides 7>.<d, hams 7%d.
Wool, Sheepskin, Hide and Tallow SaieThe New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, Ltd., Wellington, report under date 24th May, 1907 : At to-day’s sale we offered a fair-sized catalogue of wool, skins, hides and tallow. There was the usual atten dance of buyers. Now that the recent Loadon wool sales are closed, the local market for wool and skins is more settled, and bidding was if anything a little keener, although we cannot record any quotable chango in prices. Hides and calfskins were firmer, and values appreciate;! to the extent of about j-d in bides, and Id to Id per lb in calfskins. Only oddments of tallow offered. Wo quote : Wool—Crossbred stragglers, from 7 2 a to 8d per lb; crutchmgs, chan Gid to 7d ; orutchings, seedy 4Jd to Gd ; pieces, 4d to 4,' d ; Lambs, medium 7d to 7«d. Sheepskins—Crossbred pelts, CM to 7id per lb ; inferior and broken pelts, 2.91 to odd ; hah and three-quarter woolled crossbred, 8d to S.V I ; lambskins, 8d to B|d, green skins, 4s to Gs lod each; green lambsskins, 3s Cd to 4s 2d. Hides —Os, medium, sjd to 5 7-Sd, cow, medium, osd to 54d; damaged hides, 3d to 4 7-8 d; calf, sound, Cd to 7£d; calf, damaged, Id to 4d. Tallow—ln tins, to 21s Gd per cwt; inferior, in barrels, 20s Gd to 22s per cwt.
