NIKAU LIBRARY CONCERT AND DANCE.
The concert and. dance held in Mr Babuer’s granary last Wednesday evening in aid of the Nikan library eclipsed anything of its kind yet held in the district. After the programme, which was very well received, supper was handed round, and then the floor was cleared for dancing, which was kept going the wee sma’ hours. The concert programme consisted of the following items, which were all very well rendered—Overture, Mrs .Hazel;' song, “Tho Balaiiooly Army,” Mr :W. Tong; song, “Sleep On, Beloved,” Miss Wright; song, “Queen of tho Earth,” Mr Maeedo; gj trio, Sirs Hazel (piano) Messrs W. and T. Gibson (violin); song, “Mother,” Mrs Peterkin; soug, “Tho Old Brigade,” Mr W. Tong; sword dance, MrJ. Cameron; soug, “Homo Soug,” Miss Wright; soug, “The Sleeping Oamp,” Mr Maeedo; soug, “The Complete Augler, ” Miss'Stewart; recitation, “Tho Great Calamity,” Mr W. M, Cunningham.
