Per Press Association. Steatfobd, May 27. The Egmont Clothing Company’s premises in Broadway were totally destroyed by fire early on Suudaj' morning. Two shops adjoining, owned by “Mr Lambert and unoccupied, were considerably damaged also. The insurance on Egmont Company’s stock was £BOO iu the State. The buildings belonged to tlie Curuow estate and the- insurances are not available. The Egmont Clothing Co. ’s loss is estimated at £7OO over the amount of insurance. The building, which was totally destroyed, was insured iu the Australian Alliance for £350 and United £SO. Lambert’s property, adjoining, was insured for £OOO iu the Phoenix and is damaged to the extent of bevtweeu £3OO and £3OO. McAllister’s, slightly damaged, was insured for £l5O in the Standard.
