AUSTRALIAN CHAFF.
Per Press Association. Auckland, May 20. Mr Massey, M.H.R., lias called the attention of the Minister of Customs to the faot that Australian chaff _ is being imported as fodder, paying loss duty than is payable on chaff. Mr Massey has received a reply stating that the last shipment landed at Groyraouth and Kaipara were found to he not foddrter hut chaff and have been hold ponding payment of the duty collectable as chaff. Instructions have been given that all importations of a similar character should be thoroughly examined before being accepted as food for animals.
