DIVORCE COURT.

Before Mr Justice Button at Wellington on Monday the following oases were heard: Catherine Amelia Frances Scotland Smith v. John Scotland Smith: Petition for divorce on the ground of the husband’s •adultery. Petitioner gave evidence that in 1903, after her return to Wellington from a brief visit to Australia, she learned that her husband had had a-woman named Jane McDonald residing at the bouse. Detective Kemp said he .went to the house to arrest the woman for theft, but respondent concealed her. On the detective threatening to search the house respondent produced her, made a clean breast of everything, and asked the detectives to keep the matter quiet, because his wife was away. Detective Williams corroborated. His Honor granted a decree nisi, to bo made absolute after three months. _ Herbert Palmer Henton v. Jessie Henton. Husband’s petition for restitution of conjugal rights. Petitioner said his wife left him last"month, and went next door to live with ft married sister, taking their boy, ft „ed seven years, with her. Letters which passed between them wore produced. HiHonor ordered veotitution as prayed. Annie Boss v. George Boss, of Wellington : Wife’s petition for divorce on account of desertion. Decree nisi was granted, to be made absolute after three months. Elizabeth Evans v. Ralph John Evans, of Feilding, Ashhurst, Foxton, Ohingaiti and Wellington : Wife’s petition for divorce on account of adultery, and habitual drunkenness and cruelty. Decree nisi was granted, to be moved absolute for the custody of the children after three months. Waiter Samuel Best, of Auckland and Wellington, v. Helen Lucretia Best; Husband’s petition for restitution of conjugal rights, His Honor made an order for restitution as prayed. Maud Florence Hawthorne v. Francis George Hawthorne, of Wellington : Wife’s petition for divorce on account of failure to obey an order of the Chief Justice of December Bth for restitution of conjugal rights. A decree nisi was made, to become absolute after three months.

Press A ssociation. Wellington, May 21. This afternoon Charlotte Graham petitioned for dissolution of her marriage with Dr Walter Robert Graham on the grounds of adultery. The parties were married at Esseudon, in Victoria, in July, 1898, and lived together at Broken Hill, in New South Wales, and at Palmerston North. His Honor granted a decree nisi, and made an interim order for custody of a child of the marriage.
