THE ARBITRATION ACT.

Per Press Association. Wellington, May 16. Speaking at the Trades Hall tC-night after a lecture on Socialism, Mr E. Tregear, Secretary for Labor, said the Arbitration Act must not bo abandoned, but improved. Why not begin amending by giving the Court power to introduce the profit sharing element ? The Act was a good one, though the administration was bad, and thsy must stand by it till it became unworkable, and then got something better. What is the Difference ? May 17. By a reporter’s mistake MrTregear was made to say at last night’s meeting that tho Arbitration Act was “badly administered.” What he did say was that it had been “badly put into operation.”
