THE IRISH COUNCIL
Not Wanted In Ireland
Press Association.—Copyright. London, May 14.
The Executive of North Dublin branch of the Irish League resolved that tho Irish Council Bill is absurdly inadequate and insultingly hostile to the national aspirations of the Irish race.
The Catholic Bishop of Limerick describes the measure as an attack on religion in schools. The Bishop of Kildare also opposes it because clergy are ineligible for the Council,
London, May 12.
There is every probability of tho National Convention at Dublin rejecting tho Irish Council, despite Mr Redmond’s appeal to suspend judgment. - Messrs Walsh, Hogne, O’Mara, Meagher and O’Donnell repudiated the Bill. Irish-Americans and Irrecoucilables scout the scheme. Mr Healey denounces Messrs Redmond and Dillon for failing to reject the Bill, when a forecast was submitted to them.
