At the Addington live stock market to-day the entries of almost all classes of stock were large, and there was a numerous attendance. , Prime fat cattle maintained their values. Store sheep ;again sold well, and fat lambs were firm at the previous week’s rates. Prime fat wethers were firm and good ewes . also sold well, hut inferior sorts were easier. There was again prac- . finally no sale for store cattle, but ■ dairy cows were in good demand. • Pigs of all classes were firmer. There was a large yarding of store sheep and good competition for all - classes, lambs and breeding owes being in demand, but wethers, if anything, wore a shade easier. ; Wethers sold at 13s 9d to 17s, young ' ewes 15s to 17s, s.m. 10s to 14s 4d, lambs 8s 6d to 18s 9d.
Tiie fat lamb pens were well filled, " the quality being chiefly prime. All I; lots for freezing met with good competition, and there • was practically no change in .values. A few extra prime heavy weights made 24s f . 7d to 35s 3d, tegs 18s Gd to 28s Cd ■ standard weights las to 18s, and 1 lighter sorts 13s to 14s Gd. There was a large mixed yarding o'* frt sheep, of which a largo ■proportion was not well finished. Extra i prime wethers sold up to 345, i- prime 19s to 28s Cd, lighter 17s to 18s Gd, prime ewes 19s to 20s, medium 14s Gd to ICs Cd, aged 22s to 245. The entry of fat cattle totalled 818 ii head,- anti included some prime lines of heavy weights steers and light weight heifers. There was a fairly active demand for prime beef, and last week’s rates * were fully maintained. Among the sales were: For D. Rutherford

Bird! mg (Lansdowne), 14 steers, £7 10s to ,* £ll 2s 6d. Other steers made £6 10s \ to £ll 17s Gd, heifers £5 os to £8 2s fid, cows £4 10s to £7 os, equal to 22s Gd to 36s for prime and 20s to 23s for medium per 1001 b. g A largo yarding of veal calves sold well, prices ranging from os to 60s, according to size and quality. The yarding of pigs was rather smaller than usual, and fats showed a rise in price, while stores aslo mot witli a better demand. Bacouers made 40s to 50s and up to COs for heavy weights, equal to 4;dd to 4%d per lb; porkers 80s to 40s, equal to 5d to skd per lb; large stores 20s to, 275; medium, 14s to 19s; weaueis 8s to 12s, and smaller 3s to 7s Gd.
