Grand Lodge of New Zealand

Per Press Association. Invebcakqill, May 8. The Annual Communication of the Masonic Grand Lodge of New Zealand was hold at Invercargill to-day, M.TV. Bro. Lord Plunket presiding in his capacity as Grand Master, There was a large muster of brethren from all parts of the colony. The balance-sheet showed accumulated funds £12,425, of which £6841 belonged to the Widows and Orphans and Aged Masons Fund, £2744 to the Fund of Benevolence, and £2124 to the General

Fund. At the instigation of the Grand Master special efforts will he made to augment the Widows, Orphans and Aged Masons Fund in the coming year. The various Boards’ reports were adopted. The election of elective officers resulted as follows M.W. Bro. Fred. C. Binns, of Christchurch, was re-elected ProGrand Blaster. It stated that the proposed Conference of Australasian Grand Lodges had

not been held on account of the failure of Victoria and Tasmania to fall in with the idea, but it was hoped their adhesion would yet bo obtained, and Grand Lodge was therefore asked to authorise the sending of three accredited representatives to any such Conference. It was recommended that the rank of P.G.S be conferred on every brother who has held the office of Provincial or District Grand Master under any Constitution upon such brother becoming a member of Gland Lodge; that past Provincial or District Grand officers of any Constitution who have or shall become members of Grand Lodge be allowed to attend Grand Lodge in the regalia appertaining to their past Provincial or District Grand rank; and that such rank be recognised by Grand Lodge. It was recommended by ‘the Board that next annual Communication be held in Auckland in May 1908. , , m,-;™

Bro, Lord Plunket was installed, with elaborate ceremony, as Grand Master, Bro. Binns was similarly inducted as Pro-Grand Master. Tho M.W.
