Prince Fushima was accorded ovations on his arrival at Dover aud London. In the House of Commons Mr Gladstone hinted that a revised version of the play “Mikado” may ho allowed.

Mr Robertson, secretary to the Admiralty, stated that the • Admiralty, at the instance of the Lord Chamberlain, had instructed naval marine bands not to play selections from the “Mikado” during Prince Pnshima’s visit.
