The riflo meeting nmlor tlio ansiices of the Plnntervillo Riflo Club vas a success in every way. There ras a record gentry and some very :oo.i scores wore put up. Mr J. hirnell. of Wanganui, headed the ist with 5)9 out of a possible 105, ifliile a number of other competitors >ot veil into the nineties. The only [‘possible” for the day was made at 500 yards by Vol. Mayhew, of the Manchester Rifles. The day’s competitions wore well managed; an early start being affected, enabling those having by train in the evening, plenty* of time to finish at the hist range.
