FIRE.
Per Press Asa' ciation. Auckland, May 6. A house in Argyle Street, Pousonby, owned by Miss W. H. Leys, was partly destroyed by fire on Saturday night. The building was tenanted hy Martin Poulsoa, confectioner, and Henry McDonald, boot -importer; The .letter’s stock was much damaged by water. It was insured for ;£3OO in the Standard. Poulson lost everything, but his loss; is covered by insurance. Mrs Bailey, Poulson’s housekeeper, and three young children escaped in their nightdresses through an upstairs window and were assisted from the" verandah.
