Messrs Freeman R. Jackson and 00. report:—On the Ist instant we held onr usual Wanganui stock sale. Although the weather was very boisterous and wet we yarded 1000 head of mixed cattle, 3000 mixed sheep, and 80 pigs. The attendance was good, and bidding spirited, especially for cattle of all classes. A nice line of fat and forward bullocks fetched £7 7s Cd. Wo sold everything except a line of store cows and weaners and a lion of steers at satisfactory prices. All the sheep came forward as advertised; with the exception of a line of lambs, and all sold at ruling rates. Pigs sold freely. Good fat cows £5 os to £5 15s, others £i 10s to £3, fat bullocks £7 17s 6d, fat and forward bullocks £7 to £7, 7s (id. fresh 3}.< year bullocks £5 14s others £5, 3 year bullocks £3 17s (id to £4 4s. empty cows and heifers £2 (is, empty cows (poor) 37s to 30s, empty heifers (2 year) 31s to 37s Cd, well 'bred 2 year steers £3 10s to £3 18s, 15 to 18 months steers £3 11s to £3 12s, light fat heifers £4 ',2s to £4 10s, good fat and forward cows £3 Os, good weaners 33s Cd t) 265, medium ditto Kis Cd to"2os fid, springing cows £3 10s to £3 19s, small weauer 13s, fat and forward wethers 16s (id, fat wethers 17s Cd, fat ewes 14s lid to 15s, f.m. ewes in lamb 10s to 13s, empty ewes 5s Sd to 9s, good shorn lambs 11s 9d, medium lambs ,9s to 9s 4d, fair lambs 7s 9d, other to 5s Id. Pigs: Best porkers 27s Cd to 28s 6d, good porkers 25s to 275, stores 21s to 225, small stores 10s Cd to 13s, weaners 5s to 7s Messrs Dalgety and 00., Ltd., renort on their usual weekly sale at Poildiug as follows Owing to very Iv’-wv rains a largo number of advertised lots did not come forward.
