MARTON HOCKEY CLUB.
A meeting of the above (Mr O. B. Collins iii the chair) was held in Messrs Brice, Broad and Co. ’s rooms last evening for the purpose of establishing a a new club, the old club being dofnnet. There was a good attendance, considering the wet night. The election of officers resulted :—President, Mr G. P. Mather; vice-presidents, Messrs Harry Sutcliffe, F. E. H. Brice, J. H. Miles, Saudford Cox, S. J. Gibbons and R. J. AValters. A strong committee was formed, comprising Messrs R. Young, E. W. Broad, W. S. Pell, Mace Walters, O. P. Oouper,. and A. ; Parkinson; secretary and treasurer, Mr W. E. Swinburne. Tiie opening day was left in the hands of the committee, Mr A, Parkinson to arrange for a suitable ground. The club are trying to negotiate with Mrs E. Humphrey for the use of her paddock. A credit balance from the old .club was transferred to the newly formed club. Votes of thanks to ■ the chairman,, and Messrs Brice, Broad and 06, for the-use of their room were passed.
