ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES.
Per Press Association, Invf.kcaugill, May I. At the close of Wallacotown slock sale on Tuesday ahorse broke loose and collided with Mr Angus Wallace, breaking his leg above the ankle. CiiatsTcnußcn, May 1. A shunter named James Pallon was crushed between the butters of two horse boxes at Christchurch railway station this afternoon and somewhat seriously injured. A middle-aged man named Henry Brown while blasting rook on the hills in the vicinity of Little Biver on Tuesday sustained painful injuries Ho had some doubt whether a fuse had properly ignited and ventured out of his shelter to sec. The explosion occurred when Brown was within a few feet of the blast and its force hurled him tor a considerable distance down the hill. His face and eyes wore injured, and after regaining consciousness he had to crawl fully half a mile before he could obtain assistance, and he was brought to the hospital.
