MR ANDREW MACK.
Mr J. O. Williamson’s company were unfortuate in the weather they met with at Marton for the performance of “Tom Moore.” The house, in spite of adverse conditions, was full, hut it bad not that packed appearance beloved qf theatrical managers. Those who braved the elements were rewarded by seeing a charming piece overflowing with the bright and quick-witted sayings for which Ireland is so famous. Prom the moment Mr Andrew Mack came on the stage in the school scene there was not a dull interval in the play aud who' - not engaged in witty repartee Mr Mack was delighting the house with the sweet tenor voice which showed to great advantage in the tuneful Irish melodies he sang. As a stage lover Mr Mack is perfect, though wo admit that in real life most girls would prefer a man who showed more signs of losing his head as well as his heart. Tom Moore, even when most impassioned, was ready with a neat quip or jest and concealed his feelings behind a smiling face. Miss Kelton, as Bessie Dyke, *was a winsome and pretty Irish maid, who gained the full sympathy of the house. To the other actors the highest praise is given when wo say that they filled their parts successfully aud assisted the leaders in every way. The audience was most enthusiastic aud Mr Mack was recalled time after time when the curtain fell at the close of each scene aud at the end of the play received a porf ct ovation.
