School Cadets.
Slß.—Last Thursday yon publish-" 1 a letter from Major Elliott to Col. Loveday on the subject of 'School Cadets in Camp at Christchnrch. Major Elliott is an Imperial officer ajjd his opinion is the more valuable oil that account, inasmuch as any breaches of discipline and want of smartness would be noticed by him at once. My object in writing to yon, however, is to point out that the Wanganui Battalion referred to is the "Rangitikei Battalion" which is Wanganui No. 3. I am very proud of my Rangitikei "boys" and the splendid work they did and the praise they earned from so good an authority. The handling of the baggage, both entraining and embarking, was in the hands of a baggage guard provided by the Taihape company and these boys deserved all said in their favour for they took entire charge of the battalion baggage from Taihapo to Ciiristchurch and back again. Of course I do not mean to claim that no other battalion could do the same but the "Rangitikei" boys as far as this district is concerned earned the praise and it is only fair that they should have it. Honour to whom honour is due.— Yours, etc., HENRY W. SAUNDERS, Major Commanding 3rd "Wanganui (Raugitikei) Battalion, P.S. Cadets.
