Several Scottish Liberal members strongly opposed the Small Landholders (Scotland) Bill, and cornpained that compiilsory leasing destroyed responsible ownership. They "cited the action of the Scotland Chamber of Agriculture representing 8000 tenant farmers in repudiating the measure. The debate on the second reading was adjourned.
