OHINGAITI NOTES.
(From Onr Own Correspondent.) On Wednesday evening, April 24th, a most enjoyable social was held at Ohingaiti in the • Presbytcriann Church in connection with the P.W.M.U. The church was packed to the utmost, and everyone seemed thoroughly satisfied. The following programme was gone throusgh Opening hymn, “From Greenland’s Icy Mountainprayer and remarks by chairman, Rev. Mr Gunn; pianoforte duet. “The Shepherd s Evening Song,” Misses Berry; song “Sometime WeT Understand,” Mrs Riley; song, “The Better Laud,” Mr Scott jrecitation, “How to Spend a Penny,” Miss L. Gower; song, ‘ ‘ Come Unto Me, ’ ’ Miss Ohubhin ; Scotch reading, Mr Henderson; song, “Nazareth,” Mr Harland; missionary letter, Mrs T. Stewart; recitation, “The Yellow Boy,” Master Opher Wood. Second part; pianoforte duet, “The Witches’ Flight, ’ ’ Mrs H. Gower and Miss I. i; Berry; song, “We’re Nearing the } City, ’ ’ Messrs Gower; reading, I “Darby and Joan,” Mr T. Berry; ! song, ‘ 1 Oh, Dry Those Tears, ’ ’ Miss I Hanron; secretary’s report of Ohi- | ugaiti Branch P.W.M.U., Miss F. (Riley; song, “He Wipes the Tears,” Master R. Berry; song, “Only Tired,” Miss Foxcroft; song, Harland; song, “The Soldier’s Grave/” Mr Linton. Mr Berry then proposed a vote of thanks to the following;Mr Hiorns for use of piano, Mesrss Gower and Grice for timber, Mr Woods for writing out tickets,, the musicians, and also the ladies who provided the refreshments.
