MANGAWEKA.

From Our Own Correspondent. An inquest was held OH the body of Mr T. Green at Maugaweka on Thursday. Sarah Ann Green, wife of deceased, said she had been away from home since Saturday last, had left her husband at home in good health and the best of spmts. She has never known him to be liable to sudden attacks. He had never been treated by a medical man for heart disease. Dr. Turnbull stated that he had held a post mortem winch led him to conclude that death was due to hemorrhage from an ulcerated stomach. The progress of ulceration was usually of a gradual nature. From what he could see the nicer m question had been there for some weeks. Messrs Oollis and Carter gave evi: dence as to their having entered the house and found the body of deceased. Several other witnesses were examined and the verdict ot the jury was • “That in accordance with the medical evidence deco asm. . death was due to hemorrhage arising from an ulcerated stomach, the said ulceration being of several weeks Bt Tlie funeral of the late Mr Thos. Green took place on Thursday aftnoon and was attended largely. Many beautiful wreaths were placed on the grave. The funeral service was read by Rev. Copeland, of this district.
