TARANAKI PETROLEUM.

New Plymouth, April 24.

Therj was a most satisfactory development at the No. 3 bore of the Petroleum Co. this afternoon. This is an old bore which was sunk some years ago, but was destroyed by fire and is now being cleared out. A depth of 1014 foefc has been reached, and to-day oil commenced to ooze out of the pipes, five barrels being collected before work ceased for the day.
